Create a brandmark for Lesbian Parenting without a gay pride rainbow in sight.

It was important to use symbolism with neutrality – an icon that can be defined as neither gay nor straight, feminine nor butch. 

The heart is a universal, unbiased symbol of love. It crosses all gender, sexuality and race boundaries. Love is the common denominator in any parent’s relationship with their child - gay, straight or bi. 

We simply rotated the heart shape to form the initialism ‘LPA’ – creating a unique and memorable brandmark. This application also works as a beautiful metaphor. Each letter is created using the exact same shape. Despite our differences, we are all the same.
